SAR conference 2022 postponed to summer (30.06.-03.07.2022)

In view of the current pandemic situation and related travel and gathering restrictions, the conference committee has decided to postpone the 13th SAR International Conference on Artistic Research 2022 to 30th June - 3rd July 2022. Please save the date!

The SAR General Assembly will also be moved to connect to the conference, and the membership will be informed of the planned changes by separate message.

All speakers and contributors will be informed separately. 

The goal of conference postponement is to offer space for high-level in-depth exchange, pandemic-safe but at the same time convivial and flexible social gathering, and focused sessions in physical presence.

In light of the current COVID-19 numbers and prognosis in Germany, this type of event could only be realized in March in an extremely limited form, or be forced to move online. Conversely, the situation in early summer is expected to be a time of significantly lower numbers of COVID cases. The summertime will allow us more flexibility for spatial planning (i.e. convening and breaks outside, continuous airing of rooms, etc.).

Weimar is also quite beautiful in the summer!

The conference will still consist of the 24-hour online "long conversation" event (30. June - 1. July) and three days of live, on-site events in Weimar (1. - 3. July). The winner of the annual Prize for Best Research Catalogue Exposition 2021 will also be announced during the conference.

Registration and ticketing will begin in May 2022.
