Opening up and publishing processes in performance creation

We are happy to invite performers from the field of dance, theater and performance to apply for the Research Academy 2018. Applicants should have a strong interest in artistic research.

Research Academy 2018 is an intensive seven days Laboratory exploring the process and publication of artistic research in the performance field. RA2018 will provide participants the opportunity to explore making bodybased performance practices more explicit and sharable through new methods and forms of documentation. This will include experimentation with new video annotation software, innovative moving image recording (e.g. 360 degree film) and digital animation processes. Providing context for the RA2018 is “Research Video”, a practice-based research and software development project of the Institute for the Performing Arts and Film and “Cast/Audiovisual Media”. RA2018 is seeking applications from performance artists, dancers and actors for whom documentation of their creative and rehearsal processes is already an essential part of their practice. We are inviting applications from solo artists, small ensembles (duet or trio) and/ or those with a strong teaching practice.
