The Danish National School of Performing Arts invites applications for two positions as Professor in Performing Arts.
The Danish National School of Performing Arts is recruiting two new full professors to develop our educations and artistic research environment further. The school is developing a Master's degree in performing arts, and we are therefore looking for talented colleagues to help shape the future of further education in the performing arts. The general objective of the Master's degree is to allow students from all of The Danish National School of Performing Arts’ core areas (acting, playwriting, directing, stage design, light design, sound design, production management, dance and choreography, and musical theatre), to become independent and innovative performing artists. The role of the new professors will be to develop a programme that promote collaboration across disciplines and prepares the students for a professional practice as a creative artist within a broad field of contemporary performative practices.
THE APPLICANTS
Applications are sought from eminent applicants within the field of theatre and performing arts, who can strengthen the school’s research profile and provide our MA-students with significant artistic insight and experience.
As a professor in performing arts, you will teach and supervise MA-students in their artistic work and play a vital role in developing the educational programmes of the MA. You are also expected to show artistic and academic leadership by developing and managing core educational and research related tasks.
It is our aim to build a strong team of professors who will work collaboratively to enhance an already vibrant artistic and academic environment by bringing new artistic insight, practical knowledge and a renewed experimental approach to teaching. The successful candidates must be able to foster broad international cooperation. Furthermore, the professors are expected to take a leading role in research groups and development of new teaching activities. To ensure a close relationship between teaching and artistic practice, we expect the successful applicant to have strong pedagogical skills and extensive experience with theatre productions. As an important role model for our students, we also expect the team of professors to actively contribute to the artistic learning environment by a visible and physical presence at the school.
