Title of presentation

No concept without conceptualism

Concept music as a challenge for listening and understanding

Abstract

In recent years, conceptual approaches have increasingly emerged in New Music. Not the sound alone, but a concept also determines a piece, i.e. accompanying information is often part of the work, the additional use of text, video, performance. How does this affect listening, knowledge, understanding and interpretation? The lecture-performance shows practice and theory of concept music.
