What might prospective artistic doctoral research look like? In what ways might the artistic doctoral researcher engage with the world differently? How might the doctoral process be refigured, transformed, repositioned? What differences might the artistic doctorate make? What does art have to do with it?

We invite you to come and experience the Future Manifestos by three doctoral artist-researchers and to join speculation about future opportunities of the artistic doctorate in dance and performance. The event offers a space to discuss and re-imagine the role of the artist-researcher and to re-consider the position art has in artistic research.

Artistic Doctorates in Europe: Third cycle provision in Dance and Performance (ADiE) is a three-year project, investigating artistic research inquiries within doctoral level degrees in dance and performance. With eight leading organizations from UK, FI and SE, the ADiE partnership seeks to support, substantiate the undertaking, delivery and impact of third cycle degrees within universities, the cultural arts sector and beyond.
