Open call for a Professor Position

The HKS Ottersberg, University of Applied Sciences and Arts, invites applications for a full time professorship (m/f/d)

Performing Arts in Social Contexts with one of the concentrations: Applied Theatre, Directing, Acting, Performance or Applied Dance, Choreography, Dance, Performance.

The position seeks an innovative artist who takes a clear position on the future of performative arts in social contexts. The incumbent will serve as the rotating chair of the Dance and Theatre in Social Contexts program and, in particular, one of the Dance or Theatre majors. They coordinate the development of the subject in terms of content and structure in consultation with the faculty and students of the program.

The position holder contributes decisively to the profiling of the artistic research and teaching of the study program. This includes the implementation of artistic research and development projects in social contexts.

The language of instruction is German.

The teaching commitment is 18 teaching hours per week. The position is suitable for part-time work and can be split if necessary.

Applicants are expected to be willing to participate in self-government tasks and in the further development of the study programmes.

Remuneration is paid according to the company's internal tariff. Information can be obtained from the personnel administration.

The position is initially limited to two years. If the evaluation is positive, the position will then be made permanent.

The HKS Ottersberg, founded in 1967 and officially recognised since 1984, offers Bachelor's and Master's programmes in artistic and artistically applied fields. Around 350 students and 20 employees form the academic community. In the courses of study, artistic and scientific approaches to knowledge are closely intertwined and linked to the requirements of the fields of application and profession.
