Season's Greetings

“If we make it through December”, Phoebe Bridgers sings in a new recording. The singer-songwriter covers a song by the American country music singer Merle Haggard, who released the original version, with his band The Strangers, in 1973.

The song holds a simple, yet disturbing balance between self-irony, desperation, and optimism which might turn out today as more urgent than ever.

Soon we will encounter the end of a year full of changes, in which we have learned a great deal about the multiplication of crises and the division of recovery into ever more fragmented processes.

Disentangling and defragmenting them requires the manifold contributions by artistic research in its full capacities and in all its flavors.
