The Gustav Mahler Private University for Music (GMPU) in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee welcomes applications for the position of

University Assistant for Artistic Research

in the form of a part-time contractual employment (20 hours per week), with a fixed term starting 01.05.2023, ending 31.08.2025.

Tasks:
- Support of the university professorship Artistic Research in the implementation of a wide range of tasks.
- Administrative and organisational tasks as well as collaboration in projects of the professorship, especially in the development of the artistic-scholarly doctoral programme and in the research field of Sound and Intermedia
- Participation in scholarly and artistic-pedagogical projects at the GMPU
- Supervision of graduation theses (up to Master’s level)
- Research and teaching incl. taking exams
- Organisation of workshops and conferences
- Cooperation with university and non-university partners
- Participation in academic self-administration, organisational, administrative and committee tasks as well as evaluation measures
Employment requirements:
- Completed Master’s degree or diploma in a relevant field (music or sound art) at a university in Austria or abroad.
- Experience in university teaching and research (desirable)
- Familiarity with the current discourse on artistic research and with interdisciplinary and collaborative practices (desirable)
-Own artistic practice, teaching or research experience in the field of sound and intermedia, e.g. sound installation, media art or computer music (desirable)
- High level of commitment and motivation for academic work
- Digital competence: IT user skills, especially office software, and handling databases and websites
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
- Project management skills (desirable)
- Willingness to work collaboratively, and flexibility
- Ability to work in a team, organisational and communication skills

Salary:
According to wkp2 as per GMPU official regulations. Gross monthly salary: € 1,848.85. A higher salary is available depending on professional experience.
