Call for Applications: Senior Scientist (Postdoc) for Artistic Research in Music @ KWDS Graz

The Doctoral School for Artistic Research KWDS at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz KUG, offers a temporary 4-year, 75% part-time  postdoctoral position for a Senior Scientist (Postdoc) for Artistic Research in Music based on § 26 of the Austrian collective agreement for university employees, to begin with winter semester 2023.

KWDS hosts an internationally leading doctoral programme in artistic research, centering around epistemically oriented artistic practice combining artistic and scholarly/scientific practices of reflection, within an exciting artistic research environment (e.g. currently hosting two significant research projects funded by the Austrian Science Funds based at KWDS alone). We are looking for an outstanding artistic researcher in any area of music with a doctorate to take on responsibilities in the Dr.artium Programme (events, applicant orientation, admissions process), to conduct and publish original artistic research, to apply for research funding, teach subjects in artistic research, and to contribute to editorial work. We particularly encourage artistic researchers whose research practices clearly integrate reflection through artistic experimentation with scholarly/scientific reflection to apply. The successful candidate will show evidence of high international level artistic and academic research and publications in music, as well as previous experience in organizing and running festivals and/or conferences, be an excellent teamworker with a sophisticated working and communication culture, social and gender competence, and show close familiarity with the current discourse on artistic research. Excellent knowledge of English is required; strong knowledge of German is advantageous.
