INSERT #4 Dis/Sense in the Anthropocene Critique

Edited by Katrin Köppert, Alisa Kronberger and Friederike Nastold.

In the context of queer-feminist New Materialisms, perspectives on the potentials of transgressing borderlines between human-animal, human-plant, human-matter have emerged. In Post/Decolonial and Black Studies, a hesitancy can be observed that critically relates to the re-centering of whiteness in these theories. The fourth issue of INSERT. Artistic Practices as Cultural Inquiries discusses these sometimes divergent approaches. It is dedicated to "dis/sense." With this notation it is not about integration or fusion, but encounters and partial openings. Relevant here are methods and aesthetics of diffraction (Donna J. Haraway, Karen Barad) and refraction (Denise Ferreira da Silva). View issue.
