In the context of queer-feminist New Materialisms, perspectives on the potentials of transgressing borderlines between human-animal, human-plant, human-matter have emerged. In Post/Decolonial and Black Studies, a hesitancy can be observed that critically relates to the re-centering of whiteness in these theories. The fourth issue of INSERT. Artistic Practices as Cultural Inquiries discusses these sometimes divergent approaches. It is dedicated to "dis/sense." With this notation it is not about integration or fusion, but encounters and partial openings. Relevant here are methods and aesthetics of diffraction (Donna J.
