Call for applications for the MA Specialized Performance Music and Research (MaR)

The Basel Academy of Music invites musicians to apply for the newly created MA SP Music and Research. Students in MaR will pursue an individual artistic research project, mentored by at least one artistic and one academic (or artistic-academic) mentor. Additionally, courses on artistic research methodology, academic writing, and research management coupled with a wide spectrum of artistic courses and projects support the students in finding their unique path connecting music practice and research. Highlighting peer-to-peer learning, the bilingual program (German/English) offers discursive spaces and strongly supports students’ initiatives.

MaR is a collaboration with the Musicological Department of the University of Basel and is especially suited as preparation for an artistic/artistic-academic PhD.

The registration for the fall semester 24/25 is open until March 31^st, 2024.
