The call for participation in VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research Issue 13 is open! The theme is Brieftopia.

The 13 issue of VIS seeks expositions for artistic exploration, emphasising exploration of imagined realms — a fleeting yet delightful sight into an imaginative future, a momentary glimpse into a potential future that is both accessible and tangible, a brief utopia, a brieftopia. A brieftopia represents a momentary burst of imaginative thinking that happens in the present. Here, artistic researchers blend their artistic ideas with thoughts about how the world might change in the future. It’s a brief moment of escape from reality to imagine a tangible future that provides the potential to navigate ourselves.

The deadline for submitting exposition proposals is 27 May 2024.

VIS uses the Research Catalogue (RC) database for both the application process and publication. As an artist, you create an exposition using the tools provided by RC and then submit it to VIS for review. Both the VIS website and Research Catalogue provide clear instructions on how to create and submit an exposition proposal.

How do I submit an exposition proposal?

1. Register a "full account" on the Research Catalogue (RC) database.
2. Create an exposition and submit it via "submit for review" to the RC portal "VIS, Nordic Journal for Artistic Research" no later than 27 May 2024.

The exposition can be in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, or English.

Utlysningen till att medverka i VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research nummer 13 är öppen! Temat är Brieftopi.

Det 13:e numret av VIS söker expositioner inom konstnärlig forskning som riktar in sig på utforskandet av föreställda världar — en flyktig men ändå förhoppningsfull blick in i en fantasifull framtid, en hastig syn av en möjlig framtid inom räckhåll, en tillfällig utopi, en brieftopi. Brieftopi representerar ett tillfälligt utbrott av fantasifullt tänkande som sker i nuet. Här förenar konstnärliga forskare sina konstnärliga idéer med tankar om hur världen kan förändras i framtiden. Det är ett kort ögonblick av flykt från verkligheten för att föreställa sig en möjlig framtid där vi kan navigera.

Deadline för att skicka in expositionsförslag är 27 maj 2024.
