ARCHIVES OF MEMORY Survivor-Centered Visual Narratives

The Institute for the Performing Arts and Film at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) invites you to join us for an interdisciplinary exploration of arts-based research methods: ARCHIVES OF MEMORY Comic drawing as critical tool for scientific inquiry and interdisciplinary collaboration.

July 4 - July 6, 2024 (Registration, pls. register till May 31)

The event will include a workshop with graphic novelist Barbara Yelin and an afternoon of conversation with Charlotte Schallié, Chair of Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Victoria and Co-Director of the Survivor-Centred Visual Narratives (SCVN) project.

Through the workshop and conversation-style presentations, you will gain insight into the practices, approaches, and questions emerging from the SCVN project which takes up arts-based methods such as graphic novels as a means of gathering testimony. We look forward to meeting you for an interdisciplinary exchange with arts-based researchers, scientists, artists, storytellers, filmmakers, educators, curators, NGO employees, and others.
