The PhD programme at the new Faculty for Film, TV and Games at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (INN) is anchored in artistic practice. The field of study is film and related audiovisual art forms, and it is open to both artists working within more traditional film disciplines and practitioners exploring other technologies, formats and platforms.

We open two funded PhD positions in artistic research with application deadline October 11th, 2024:

  1. PhD fellow in artistic research with focus on spatial computing and virtual productions. The focus of the PhD position is to explore and develop new forms of expression and perhaps new art forms, where actual and projected space meet. The place of work is at the Game School in Hamar at Faculty for Film, TV and Games at INN. Read more and apply for the position here.
  1. PhD fellow in artistic research in film editing with a focus on documentary genres. We encourage editors and/or filmmakers with experience in editing to apply and are particularly seeking candidates with an interest in and experience with the series format. This fellowship requires, for no-native speakers, documented oral and written skills in one of the Scandinavian languages. Read more and apply for the position here.

The Faculty of Film, TV and Games at INN, where the two open positions are located, was established on August 1st 2024, merging The Norwegian Film School, the TV-School and the Game School into one faculty that offers creative and artistic educations within the fields of film, TV production and virtual reality, animation and game technology. As a fellow in the PhD programme in Artistic Research in Film and Related Audiovisual Art Forms, you will join a vibrant cross disciplinary artistic community. There are currently 14 PhD candidates in the programme, which will soon become a part of the new joint PhD programme in artistic research to be established between The Faculty of Film, TV and Games at INN and art educations at Østfold University College and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
