9th INTERNATIONAL MEETING on ART EDUCATION ART AND ART EDUCATION: networks of resistance and transformation

Noisy silences blur the complexity of a fast-paced era that renders its colonial, enslaving, exploitative, and nature-depleting past invisible — a closed mortgage on the possibility of a future.

Confronting this era, the INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS on ART EDUCATION have been held since 2010, gathering artists, educators, and researchers from diverse geographies. Together, they forge shared movements of complicity, fostering interventions and constructing multiple epistemologies and ontologies.

The 9th ei_ea will take place in the city of Porto, Portugal, hosted by ESMAE - P.Porto, FBAUP, and FPCEUP, from 20 to 23 June 2025, continuing the mission of the previous Meetings.

The event will be mostly in Portuguese and Spanish, with openness to collaborative translations between participants.
