SKH announces two vacancies for professors in artistic research

Stockholm University of the Arts is looking for two experienced leaders in artistic research. We invite applications for a Professor with the assignment as Vice-Rector for Research and a Professor responsible for the third-cycle programme in Performative and Media Based Practices. Join us to shape and develop doctoral education and research at the highest international level.

Professor of Performative and Media Based Practices, with assignment as Vice-Rector for Research

  • Lead SKH’s research and third-cycle education
  • Manage research environment and development
  • Budget and quality assurance for research activities
  • Strategic planning of collaborations with internal and external partners
  • Drive national and international research collaborations
  • Represent research issues in the university leadership team

Full-time position, 5 years, starting January 2026. Experience in artistic research and leadership required.

Professor in performative and media based practices with the additional responsibility as Head of the third cycle programme

  • Lead and develop the third-cycle programme including quality assurance, budgeting, and governing documents
  • Strategic planning of courses, research ethics, and supervisory training
  • Coordinate national and international collaborations and strengthen links to undergraduate education
  • Represent SKH and foster an open, collaborative culture

The full-time, five-year position starting in January 2026 includes teaching, research ethics advisory duties, and 20% dedicated to your own artistic research, requiring experience in artistic research, leadership, and research ethics.
