New issue of Music & Practice: Musical Entanglements and Artistic Research in Australia

In this Special Issue on Musical Entanglements and Artistic Research in Australia, we examine a range of artistic practices in Australia shaped by intercultural and transnational encounter. Our discussion of Australian entanglements includes sustained reflection on how Australian artistic researchers have both adopted and led the development of artistic research methodologies that circulate globally. The result is a Special Issue that showcases both the locality and international dimensions of artistic research in Australia underpinned by a broader argument that understanding the way musical practices have been historically charged is fundamental to grappling with how they might be meaningfully deployed in the present.

The guest editors of this Special Issue are Dr Christopher Coady, Dr Amanda Harris, Dr Nicole Cherry, Professor Neal Peres Da Costa.
