Here's what I've been working on the last two weeks with the Ball Kids - read from left to right. Any questions just text me otherwise see you on Sat, your 10am my 3pm xo
1. I imagine this as the start. I can explain why when we talk.
2. I'm thinking about doing this section dressed as Marie Antoinette (and then being undressed from this costume), still saying the lines in the same quasi American accent.
After talking to a friend Sunniva about find loops in this work and going back in time to different periods (which link in with the etymology of the celebrity, conspiracy theories, the selfie among others) she mentioned Marie Antoinette as a kind of 17th Centuary Lindsey Lohan/fallen celeb type, who alledegly said 'let them eat cake' but didn't actually say this, whose head was cut off and whose death semi-sparked the French Revolution (said to be the start of democracy in Europa). The Crusades is an earlier era also ripe with conspiracy theories..
Anyway, the period before and after the French Revolution was when conspiracy theory elaborated into a pseudo academic 'body of thought'.
I'm not sure exactly how I got here but I think it's interesting and that maybe Marie Antoinette is a fulcum of some kind, a more certain place to land this 'Lindsey/influencer/TV woman' type character.
3. I will be wearing a headset mic during this part (and possibly in all of the sections) . I imagine the Ball Kids saying/shouting/screamsinging the last paragraph with me (they didn't know the lines yet) together with the Volcano soundtrack, to create a Big Build. I can explain why when we talk 'looping wave' structure we talked about before.
4. The Ball Kids are passing sachets of sugar to eachother. Being hit with bread (which will come from behind the audience) is a reference to Marie Antoinette (although maybe then, it should be brioche...) and a way to get into the Moon Landing section.
1. The Moonlanding subject/object movement quality I'm doing in the particular video is not as apparent - I was kinda preoccupied by the timing of the Ball Kids, but plan to work on the movement more.
2. The period of time I'm moving for before the ball kids get involved could be longer I think - a very long and sparse atmostphere compared to The Set-Up Section before it.
3. I think it would be helpful to decide what the script is of this section is (especially if I plan to make it longer and sparser: to decide on this) so that I can play with what looping means, or how it works, what it includes, how short/long the loops are, how messy they can get, the Ball Kids' role in each loop, etc.
When I go between Lindsey and the Moon Landing, I get the feeling of breaking and entering and I wonder about other ways to do that.
1. The Presidency could kinda be put anywhere. I like that it is in the Moon Landing language/temporality but mentions a real person with a real role that is easily understood and not as abstract.
2. We played around with lots of different objects but in this video the objects were narrowed down to : a candlestick, a book, a small tree log/stump, a boot, a water bottle, a shot glass, and the ball kids could also draw portraits (see next section for more on this).
When thinking about what objects I was drawn to tools in different parts of history - a candleholder, a log, a bone maybe, knife and fork.....
Jen suggested a giant sandwich...
3. It's quite a lot to have the objects and the movement of the ball kids going and also hearing the text, so the Presidency could be repeated with less stuff gonig on too - maybe this is in one of the loops...
3. The Ball Kids and I didn't really have a system or rule or logic to follow about how and when objects entered the space, or if/when I could go get objects myself. This would be good to talk about.

2. In this scenario, I picture the audience being behind the Ball Kids so they can see what they're drawing. The Ball Kids could have thick texta so it's easier to see.
3. I also thought of using clay for making sculptures, but its a bit messier and $$ than paper.
4. This can read like old school papparazzi... but interesting what could be done with the mass amount of disfigured images that are produced - maybe there's a production line with the ball kids packing them into boxes, or sealing them with wax.
5. I'm not sure what this activity is saying or doing exactly beyond an initial celebrity/narrassist/papparazzi reading. Maybe its about the image. Maybe the Ball Kids can mass swarm around one audience member after another and 'portrait' them like a kind of creepy Alex Mac blob analogue image machine.
6. I also thought about Ball Kids drawing Lindsey while she's selling her stuff (the video footage from MDT, the 'survival ball')
