Families
Looking at relatedness in the most common or fundamental way that we know: in families. From the primary family branching outwards, DNA stemming from and to the individual; to plant and animal genus. Linneas was a Swedish botanist who created the basics of biological plant and animal family system, distinguished by characteristics such as a square stem, or a rounded stem and so on. Under each family name (Rose or Mint family for example) are many different speicies, sharing some characterists, differeing in some way. Of course, this helps us identify species but over time DNA even in the plantworld slowly changes.
This brings to the fore, the question, what is the "I" ? The individual? If we are basically made of most of the same ingredients?
