Accessorise your instrument. Pimp it. Upgrade it. Decorate it. Stuff it. Make it flamboyant or punk or kitch or glam. Make it a LOT. Almost too much. Then play it.  

Approach your instrument from accross the room slowly, like it’s sacred to you.

Pause and breathe.

When you reach it start playing tenderly.

See where it takes you.
