Transcanadienne

2014, installation for 5 HD video projections, stereo sound and vinyl lettering on wall, 2:00 minutes, looped.

Transcanadienne is a multi-channel video projection showing the landscaped no-man’s lands that are features of many cities' peripheries.

Named after the Trans-Canada Highway (in French Autoroute Transcanadienne) that passes through Montréal, the work shows the decaying modern architecture of the factories and warehouses lining this freeway in the city’s western suburbs.

Exhibited at Galleria Huuto Jätkäsaari, Helsinki, Finland, May 2014.
