Film Sketches 

Earlier this spring, I realised that I was going to make an film with music and movement, and this seemed the natural development of a new branch of EoD. 

I have been dreaming of this concept for a couple of years, of addressing time in this particular way, 

and a few months ago I realised it was time to just get started, and got some dancer friends involved. 

We will make a 24 hour long one shot of very slow movement, and then speed it up to get a full sunrise to sunrise circle in a 24 minute film. We have made a few sketches, here is one

Why important/urgent? I am placing the film here in Q1, because it’s important to me and my work in the future, and urgent in the sense that we need to plan the production carefully, raise a lot of money and get more people involved. 

I see similarities in working with the film and project, in that both represent a changed relation to time. Going in to Open Mode feels like stopping time, and filming these Jedis moving incredibly slowly creates a related kind of timestretch.

It makes me think that the music for this film could be made in warped time also. Recording things in different tempo layers, or recording a conceptual piece with an ensemble, and changing the speed afterwards. 

It’s feels natural to have these different creative projects on parallel tracks. The meaning and connection is there, and I don’t need to force it. That’s what it feels like at the moment, at least

Now we have covered the Q1 things. Meaning what’s necessary for understanding what my concert will be all about, so now we can move on to Quadrant 2 and talk about all the important stuff that isn’t infected with urgency.
