Sculpture Album
Friends have been joking with how my ØYA album was made like a sculpture. I have been recording so many tracks that the process resembled sculpturing. The mass of recorded tracks was like the block of granite, and selecting tracks and mixing was like carving out the figure.

This piece is a result of a free approach to recording, followed by extreme control in the editing phase.
Working with EoD has made me think: Why not go all in on the sculpture way of making an album?
Instead of recording a thousand layers of produced/composed overdubs, I could instead make a really huge piece of marble, made by a large group of musicians, individually recording while playing along with the tracks they wish. For instance, the thickness of the rock could be 100 individual tracks. Lines of a trunk.
In the editing phase it would then be possible to carve out a number of albums from the same rock. It would be an interesting way of creating a triple album.
I like the idea of going all the way into a concept of working. Instead of being a pseudo sculpturer, actually making music like sculpting.
The wonderful Talk Talk album Sprit of Eden is made in a similar way.
