Performative Presentations.

I can't call the presentations I do Performance lectures, because they are more presentations and more performative than a lecture, that's why I chose to call my presentations Performative Presentations.

In these presentattions I present my idea, but add a performative layer to it: sound, video, movement...

2.0 Presentation

In the 2.0 presentation I was presenting at the high table and television in Pastoe, I positioned the television that you could see both the television and the satirs.

Before the presentation started, I went upstairs and started the video. In the video I was walking from my desk, down the stairs up to the place of the television. In real life I did the same movement, except that now I wasn't wearing a costume.

Because my research is about making spaces theatrical, I tried to already make the space in Pastoe theatrical by one simple intervention.

During the presentation I explained how I tend to work. In the middle of the presentation, I red a poem as an intervention of the presentation. The poem is called de geur van tijd, by using the poem, I was able to get my project and my style accross in a different way, the spectators were drawn into the same atmosphere.

Preparing the 2.0. helped me to find out what the important factors in my research are and how I still can stay ttrue to my sensitivity and intuition.

Share your practice
For the share your practiee, I decided to invite the audience to my workspace. Trying to get them to see what is influencing me, what my style is, and where I am working most of the time.
I projected the researcg catalogue over the mindmap that is hanging on the wall.

In the presentation I used the research catalogue to guide me thourgh the presentation.
I explained what my question is, what my means are and showed the first experiment of the Culemoborg Light. In the video of the experiment and the placement of the video, it seemed as if I was standing on the small balcony.

It was very interesting to see how everybody experienced something different. Because I shared this experiment with a larger audience than normal, I have a lot of feedback of how I can improve and change it.

2.1. Presentation

The 2.1 presentation is for me the ideal moment to combine all the things I have been making this past semester and allowing me to play with theatricality and with making a first throw toward the final exam.
