Examples of present day colors. The landscape is a mixture of conifers and broadleaf forest. Red and orange colors represent Autumn colors. As the climate warms there will be more Summer and less Spring and Autumn.

Projection of how the colors in Acadia might look with +2 degrees C of warming. The cool conifer forest disappears and there is warm broadleaf forest. Summer becomes longer and Spring and Autumn become shorter.

These paintings were made with leaves to show a plant and human interaction. Human interaction with plants has changed the latitudes at which different plant species survive. This in turn changes the color of the landscape. This is an example in Acadia National Park in Maine of an artistic projection of current day climate and how the colors of vegetation may change as the climate warms.

Projection of how the colors in Acadia might look with +3 degrees C of warming. There is warm broadleaf forest and some tropical forest.
