During a summer heat wave in Greece, water from the Mediterranean Sea is collected into a goatskin gourd and poured over the burning stones of the ruins of five ancient Greek theatres. After the libation ritual, the ceremony officiant performs the same little hand choreography in front of each theatre. The hands performing the libations are augmented by faux-chitin claws made from marine research data (1) printed on plasticised papier-maché.
