"Ruin Archive Archive Ruin" will explore the landscapes of the contemporary ruin and the archive.

Speakers Marit Eikemo (Autor, NO) and Neil Brownsword (Artist, UK) will in particular focus on the Post-Industrial- Contemporary Ruin and Michelle Teran (Artist, CA) and Hildur Bjarnadottir (Artist, IS) will hone in on the site/place as/in archive, and the narrative of archive.

Please mark that Marit Eikemo will read in Norwegian but the rest of the seminar will be in English.

This seminar is part of the project period: 'Site Anatomy' at KHIB that works with the post industrial landscape/sites in Bergen. A particular focus will be on the discourse around the site as: Matter, Contemporary Ruin, Archive, and Territory.

Site Anatomy is a part of 'Topographies of the Obsolete: exploring the site specific and associated histories of Post- Industry.' an Artistic Research project (KU Prosjekt) initiated by Professors Neil Brownsword and Anne Helen Mydland at Bergen Academy of Art and Design (KHiB) in collaboration with partner universities/institutions in Denmark, Germany and the UK. Topographies have for two years been working in Stoke on Trent in the UKwithandinthe remnants of its ceramics industries. More than 40 international artists and theoreticians have participated in this multidisciplinary project with a program of seminars, publications and exhibitions.

The project is on-going until 2015, and is funded by The Norwegian Artistic Research Program, Bergen Academy of Art and Design (KHiB), and partner institutions; The Royal Danish Academy of Art; Muthesius Kunsthochsule, Kiel; Bucks New University, Nottingham Trent University, Sheffield Hallam New University and Newcastle University.
