Artistic development:

  1. The vocal maturity of mine has stepped into a new level in which are able to support me to sing more demanding reportoires for young bass-baritone.

  2. My vocal techniques also developed immensely which helps me be able to reach the higher register in order to take more demanding roles in Opera productions.

  3. My capability of understanding, articulating and expressing the French, German, Italian and Russian has been more proficient.

  4. The overall impression of my stage temperament has been more stable and convincing for each roles I perform on the stage.

  5. The Acting skills still needs to be polished since it still looks quite rigid and a bit clueless on the stage.

  6. The general social skills of mine still needs to be developed in terms of being more extrovert insdead of being careful and thoughtful all the time.

Goals I set for myself:

Keep improving all the factors I mentioned above and generate all the social sources I could to find my own profesisional place in Netherland. Academically I would like to get admitted by Dutch national Opera academy, gathering enough stage experience and professional knowledge in the field. Professionally I would like to discover more posibilities in the Dutch society in order to build up my reputation in the field, therefore I could make a firm foundament for my PIA in the future.

Introduction to Project Management

[Assignment 1: BDPIA (Brief Description of Professional Integration Activities)]{.underline}

  1. **Describe your Professional Integration Activities. **

I would like to create an association with the Chinese Cultural Center in Den Haag, which is going to immensely develop my social connections and get better human resources in terms of the different systems between Chinese society and Western society; meanwhile, it also means I could manage every sources and tools I have to cultivate my singing career in a reasonable path, for example, trying to find the sponsors to organize my personal recital or being able to find a stable job in University as a professor and so on, instead of being wondered and anxious all the time for the possibilities of positive outcome of Opera studio Auditions. The extended social connections I can possibily get from this PIA could be generate to more interesting bussines idea later, which will be the possibility of building a intermediate agency company in order to empower the young musicians in the Netherland to help them get enough gigs and income in there early stage of career.

  1. **What is the background and motivation of your PIA? **

I got this idea during the quarantine life due to Covid-19. Not only the study progress got diminished, but also the professional career development got messed up. My plan original plan this year was to use the time efficiently and applied for Opera studios and international vocal competitions, but apparently everything got delayed, therefore the epidemy inspired me to think “How can I keep myself being safe as a musician in terms of financial-wise, organizing-wise and job-wise if I will meet some crisis like Covid-19 in the future?”, thus I made it clear for myself that I need to prioritize the stability of my family’s life. Counting on the great opportunities of international Operatic soloist career is currently not a pragmatic thought. By following this trend of thought, it is becoming clear that being associated with come national standard organizations would be the best option for me to maintain the necessities of my daily life. I could meet varies type of people with different background, which is going to broaden my social horizons, and be able to make some great projects with solid and “politically correct” background,

  1. **What will the final outcome be? **

The final outcome of my PIA can be varied. There are 2 possibilities it can be: firstly, they could actually offer me a vacancy which is going to take in charge of the artistic communication and classic performance between China and the Netherlands, and I will be able to get a stable income while doing this job. Secondly, they are only interested in my artistic level and they would like me to work for them as a freelancer who is going to bring up some classic performance occasionally according to their schedule, human sources, budget and so on. In either case, I would be able to keep working on my artistry and develop my career in different dimensions.

  1. Describe the short-term goals for your PIA.

<1> I would like to get the business cooperation between me and CCC done before the Christmas Holidays so that I could start to organize some certain projects in the coming year.

<2> I would like to organize 3 times recitals with one-hour duration per time at least before the end of the first master year.

<3> Make the cooperation firm between me and CCC in the coming year, and get to know more KOL in via the social activities from CCC.

  1. Describe the long-term goals for your PIA.

<1> Have a long-term and stable partnership with CCC, and maintain the relationship between me and sponsors.

<2> Being able to associate with the Chinese Foreign Ministry and Chinese Ministry of Culture in order to be recognizable in the Chinese political system so that I would be able to find a good job if I want to develop my career in China in the future.
<3>Being able to maintain a certain social reputation by associating with CCC in the coming years in the Netherlands, which would be more convenient for me to deal with the social matters.

<4>Being able to speak fluent Dutch while I will be dealing with the business matters.

  1. In what way will your PIA create value?

There are varies types of values I could get from my PIA.

Economic value: As I mentioned above, I would be able to generates a stable income from my PIA as long as they work out. The amount of the income would also be considerable since the organization itself has a lot of economical sponsors and political sponsors.

Social value: As I mentioned above, I would be able to meet varies types of people with different backgrounds who are having different jobs, which is going to largely broaden my social horizons and having more social contacts in order to generate more sources to cultivate my Operatic soloist career.

Artistic value: I would be requested to sing varies types of art songs in different languages for the international artistic performances sense, therefore I need to be really flexible and not only working on Opera arias but also work on the art songs and LIeder, which is also going to help me a lot later in the international vocal competitions since I will sing with more repertoires options, styles and depth.

Educational value: What I am going to learn from my PIA is a certain type of observing skills. I would be handier in dealing with social activities. I would also be more mature in terms of being able to convince everyone who are around me that I am the one who can get the jobs done perfectly.

  1. Describe how your PIA is related to your own artistic development

My PIA is closely related to my artistic development in terms of the possibilities and frequencies of being on the professional stages. It is generally recognized by the fact that it is really difficult to start a soloist career in a somehow “right direction” due to the fact that the little Opera or classic companies have disappeared in the past decades, which bring much less opportunities for the young singers nowadays be to on the professional environment and stages to try things out and figure out what they still can improve. I would certainly be able to use my PIA as part of the gaining sources of my professional performing experiences, which is definitely going to benefit the progress of my career.

  1. Describe how your PIA is related to your research.

The title of my master research would be “Discuss the importance of Verdi 's composition the development of Chinese classical music culture”. My PIA would be related to my master research in terms of my repertoire choices and audience feedback. There is a huge music aesthetics difference between China and Netherland that Chinese people really prefer Verdi’s compositions more than Dutch people do. I would definitely use my PIA to organize more concerts and projects which would give me more chances to sing Verdi’s repertoires in front of both of Dutch and Chinese audience, so that I could do a little interview afterwards to do a comparison in order to help me the reason why there is a cultural gap in between.
