The methodology was developed through two main approaches to participation anchored in the artistic practices "Performances for the Mind" (Schaitl) and "Choreographic Clues" (Ruth).
The research invited to a kickoff, two week long laboratories, developed formats for teaching, conducted phenomenological interviews, concluded with a public series and collected the findings on participatory sense-making into a paper.
During the public series of WITHDRAWING THE PERFORMER the research also developed documentation and reflection methods of how to capture experience inside participatory art, specifically focusing on methods that engaged in collaborative reflection and wouldn't disturb the situations we were analyzing.
