On the potential of artistic essaying

2. Have a think about how the proposal questions speak to you and what you see as potential for the group. I have copied the questions in below and attached the original proposal for the group.

Q1. To what extent should we expand the essay through hybrid and experimental forms?

Q2. How should we produce essays in our current personal-aesthetic-political-technological conditions of crises?

Q3. To what extent can hybrid and experimental forms of essaying act as practice-led artistic research?

Q4. How can essaying as practice-led artistic research inform pedagogical approaches?

Q1. We should think not just about the needs and desires of the authors, but also about the reader. For example, an art journal proposed that the content should be possible to be read completely in a specific time frame, around 2hours I think.

Q2. That's a good question

Q3. I believe this form of rethinking writing practices in the artistic context is fundamental to link the artistic practice and the academic research in a more reciprocal way.

Q4. I am sure that as an artist and teacher, I can connect and engage with my students in a way that is much more respectful of their subjectivity.
