Blokecore is a football oriented fashion trend which combines vintage football nostalgic and fan culture. The whole football aesthetic vent viral before and during the whole summer on Tiktok and Instagram. Everywhere you could have seen someone wearing Vintage jerseys, fan scarfs and trackpants. As an football supporter who owns as well some kits and who has a lot of friends wearing jerseys over the years its not a new. But for me its new the popularity of it in the mainstream.

The Name comes from the Bloke what is a British word for man. Traditionally its translated with a cliche it’s a person who’s typically manly. Not only the name of the style its origin comes from England also the whole aesthetic has its origin in the 90s Football culture from England. But the 90s Football aesthetic evolved out of the casual movement of the 80s. In that time Fans travelled all over Europe to support their team. That subculture was mostly represented by the young working class from England. But the Casuals as they are called now didn’t wear Kits. They most likely worn subculture associated Brands as CP Company and Stone Island. But in the 80s the Casual movement didn’t made it to the mainstream because of the connection to the hooligan scene.

Demna Gvasalia the current Creative Director has used Football Kits in several shows for Balenciaga and Vetements.

Quite intressting something Workingclass gets worn on the Runway for one of the most known brand nowadays.

The Trend uses vintage and current Footballkits

TikTok as a huge boost for the Trend
