For the adaptation of the Stellar Sonata for amplified acoustic harp, the first thing that is considered is how we should amplify an acoustic harp, with which microphones and where to place them.
After that, the matter of understanding the technicalities of the original Set-up of the Stellar Sonata is considered. A greater understanding of this will lead to the solution for the adaptation.
The goal for the adaptation was to create a set-up that is easily recreated, with minimal but also updated equipment and expenses, but of course with optimal sound production. Caroline Lizotte once told me that she needs six suitcases when she transports her Stellar-gear to a gig. I wanted to reduce that amount of gear significantly by creating a set-up which is compact.
It is important to me that this research can be used as a guide for harpists to follow to play the Stellar Sonata, regardless of what kind of pedal harp they already own.
