What is the purpose of your study, i.e. what do you want to know? (For example, it could be related to communication between students, or something completely different!) What does your empirical material consist of? (data is sometimes used in social sciences) Who did you observe/interview? How did you go about observing/interviewing? Why did you make that choice? NOTE: Do not lose sight of the purpose because it is your common thread throughout your presentation.
