1. When is the Call for Contributions open? How can I submit a proposal?

The Call is now open. It closes on Tuesday, the 3rd of January  2017 at 23.59.

The proposals are to be submitted through the electronic platform that you can access here

More detailed instructions on the format and contents of the proposals are provided in the submission form.

 

2. What kind of a proposal can I submit? Can I submit a joint proposal or a group proposal? Can I submit multiple proposals?

You can submit proposals for the four different strands of the conference, namely, Performative Presentations, Text-based Working Groups, Collaborative sessions and Interventions.  You can find more information on the  presentation formats related to these strands on the conference website and in  the submission form. 

Yes, you can submit a joint proposal with your colleague or with a group. However, once accepted, all group members must register individually.

You can submit one individual proposal, and in addition, you can participate in a group/joint submission.

 

3. How can I register? What are the registration rates?

The general registration opens on Monday the 20th of February 2017.

The preregistration for SAR members opens on Monday the 13th of February 2017.

Registration closes as soon as the maximum number of participants (200) has been reached, or by the latest on Monday the 10th of April 2017.  

We will use electronic registration and the registration link will be published on this website. The accepted presenters will receive the link directly.

The registration rates are:

SAR members: 100 € 

Non-members: 160 € 

Reduced price for students and freelance artists: 60 €

Note! The number of student/freelance tickets is restricted to a total of 50 tickets.

 

4. What is the cancellation policy for the conference?

If you cannot attend the conference, you can deregister via the link in your confirmation email. Please do so, so that we can offer an opportunity for someone else to attend the conference. We cannot offer refunds of paid conference fees.

 

5. Am I eligible for the member rate?

6. What is included in the conference registration? 

The conference registration includes: 

Participation in all plenary sessions

Participation in one of the group session strands

Lunch on Friday April 28 and Saturday April 29.

Helsinki City Reception and buffet on Friday April 28.

The registration does NOT include:

Banking costs 

Travel and accommodation costs

 

7. How can I reserve a hotel room, and what are the rates?

There are multiple possibilities for accommodation within a short distance of the conference venue. You can reserve a room directly from the hotel of your choice. To the right you can view and download a list of hotels with a special offer for the SAR conference attendees and instructions for booking.

 

8. I only want to attend one day / one session of the conference, is that possible to do without registering for the conference?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to attend any session of the conference without registration.

1. How can I reserve a hotel room, and what are the rates?

If the conference is sold out, you can apply to join the waiting list by sending an email to sar@uniarts.fi. Please clearly mention "Waiting list" in the subject line. We will send an email to those on the waiting list as soon as any places become available. Registration for these places will be on a first come, first served basis.
