Sill, Järn, Krut, Människor & Socker undersöker hur triangelhandeln, det ekonomiska system som låg till grund för den transatlantiska slavhandeln, fortfarande påverkar samtida ekonomiska och kulturella strukturer. Med projektet besöker konstärsduon Whyte&Zettergren platser som är historiskt kopplade till triangelhandeln. På dessa platser genomför duon  liveakter med koreografi, berättande och ceremoniella handlingar. I sina akter använder de objekt skapade av material som utvunnits, tillverkats eller exporterats från dessa platser. Genom att aktivera platserna och materialen i sin process söker Whyte&Zettergren konstnärliga metoder för att bearbeta historiska trauman. Deras mål är att väcka samtal om minne, arv och ansvar.

Herring, Iron, Gunpowder, Humans & Sugar investigate how the triangle trade, the economic system underpinning the transatlantic slave, still influences contemporary economic and cultural structures. With the project the artist duo Whyte&Zettergren visit locations historically linked to the triangular trade. At these sites, the duo perform live acts with choreography, storytelling, and ceremonial actions. In the acts they use objects crafted from materials extracted, manufactured, or exported from these locations. Activating the sites and materials through their process, Whyte & Zettergren aim to find artistic methods for addressing historical trauma. Their goal is to spark discussions about memory, heritage, and responsibility.
