Comments on fashionpedia  history explanation

It would benefit from also exploring men's fashion and how it has evolved. Men's fashion trends, such as the rise of suits, denim, and workwear, have had a significant cultural impact.

Gender Fluidity: The history summary could also include the rise of gender-neutral or non-binary fashion, reflecting how contemporary fashion challenges traditional gender norms.

For me it is also important to include non-Western fashion traditions that have had a global impact in the fashionpedia history. Asian fashion, in particular, has a rich history:

The Japanese kimono is an iconic garment that has influenced both traditional and modern fashion.

There’s also nothing said about streetwear, like the style that came from LA Hip-Hop. This is a huge part of fashion history, especially in the 1980s and '90s, with brands like Adidas and Nike. It’s important to talk about how streetwear changed the fashion world.

Evidences that support the work I did so far.

'' fashion is often........ social expression'' (the lexicon of fashion p. 15). Well this sentence says exactly what the fashion pedia says in 4 pages. it is all rounded up in two sentence .

''it is true.......of the elite'' (the lexicon of fashion p. 15) This sentence helps my point of view on the fashion pedia history pages. Most fashion histories  only talk about the elite and western point of fashion and not about the people of lower social status.

The fashion pedia history does not say anything about street wear and the lower class like the factory workers in the 1900s.

''they claimed that....., they concluded''. (the lexicon of fashion p. 17).

They  say that if you wear western type of clothes in other world parts like Africa or Asia it is incorect. But i dont agree because it is almost like you want the world parts to be separated through clothing. You can't be your self in your clothes in other world parts.

''her position is....... dress or clothing''. (the lexicon of fashion p. 18).

I agree with this sentence till a certain point, she says that clothing only becomes fashion if it has symbolic value. I almost think that maybe not all people think that their clothes are fashion but just clothes because they need to wear it. I think that it is almost every time fashion because you would not just wear something that you think is ugly right? For me fashion is someons clothing choice.

But then working clothes are diffrent because that is just there to make it dirty or to keep everything sanitized.

'' a classic on......reflect fashion's changes''. (the lexicon of fashion p. 25).

I like this sentence because it is true in my eyes. look at the wool trench coats they are here scince the 1800s and still i like to wear them. But maybe thats also function, fashion and function!

Comments on the other research moodboards for the 1920s

- A lot of people did a lot of text, and some people did no text at all.

- The most moodboards consistet of clothing and asscecories

- All very black and white

- Most colors in the time were dark colors like dark greens and blues

- Tessa had some vogues of the 1920s off France and that was really nice to see some original pictures,

- Massimo did the 1930s and a lot of research on the meaning of the clothing they were wearing , then our conversation went further in to why they were wearing wool for sports wear and that we would never do it now.

- Massimo had a great idea about the furr coats that you see a lot on the 1920s pages and not so much anymore on his own moodboard about the 1930s probably because of the great depression in 1930s.

- Also the jewelery of the decades really differ from each other.

- We all only did mostly women wear,

Comments on my presentation

- Massimo liked that you could see very easily where everything what i did in research catalog was.

- A tip was that i could have incorporated color more, in the moodboard about the twenty's.

- A tip that I also received was that i could citate the scentences that I was using for the comments on the fashion history book a little bit better.

- Massimo also liked that I put music and some videos into my moodboard!

- A tip as well was that I could have put all the different assignments on different pages.
