Assignment 1 - Small presentation in Bach3 in the beginning of 3rd year:
1. A short intro of myself – how I and others see me: Hi, I am Klara. My name comes from the latin Clarus, which means clear, bright, shining. These words, I connect to light and energy. Even if it is merely my name, I connect a lot to what it symbolizes. I am a person with a lot of energy. Usually, it takes the form of emotions that flood inside of me, and that I like to express. I do it through my body – I move, dance, use my voice and facial expressions. Because of that, I see myself as a constant performer. I perform everywhere I go! I like to do it that way, because it is a playful way of being in this world. And I think of myself as a playful person. It is through playing that I am creative, that I am being myself, and interacting with others.

How do others see me? Other people see me as a very positive, caring and funny person. I think people sometimes see me as childish, or innocent, but also as hard-working and disciplined.

2. What have I come to get?: I have come to get tools that can help me in acting upon my imagination and creating from it. I have come to get a place for daring to do something, instead of talking about something. Also, a place for sharing and support as I keep searching for what stories I want to tell, and how I want to tell them.

3. What do I bring?: I bring a lot of curiosity, joy and an eagerness to come together as a group. I really like working together in small, focused groups, and I think that I can contribute a lot to this group with motivation and positive energy.

4. What will be my biggest challenge?: Daring to really dive into a creative process, and staying in it. Sometimes I want to rush things, or I procrastinate. It will be a challenge with continuity for me, I think. To keep researching, playing and trying out what is possible. Instead of just jumping to what I believe is the result.

5. What do I need from the group?: From the group, I need a positive and encouraging atmosphere. I need that we communicate with each other and support one another the best we can. For example, through helping each other with peer feedback, checking in how we all are doing, etc. And that we have fun together.

Assignment 2 – Write a quick text that describes my work:
I am making, absurd, funny and surprising pieces of dance. They are expressing something vulnerable and honest. I am an artist that work from intuition, play and storytelling. I would like for my audience to be able to connect to the work I am sharing, on an emotional level. I want to comment on conditions that people are living with, and suggest alternative realities. Physical qualities: Working with gravity, an available body, and chains of movement. Allowing for the body to take me places.

Assignment 3 – WOW (Wall of Wonder)
Titel of my Wall of Wonder: Happiness and Harmony
It derives from the sentences Tapping into my inner harmony, and Pursuit of pleasure, wanting constant kicks.

Assignment 4 – Mapping the universe
Map of my universe (from the 3D map in my own room):

Assignment 5 - Mapping the universe+ the clusters/relationships that emerge
Cluster 1: Maps + my drawings. Maps are a reoccurring element for me, as well as colourful drawings that I make. The relationship between the two, is that my drawings look a bit like maps. And, I often draw ‘floor maps’, when creating dance pieces. A floor map provides information about on which path a body should travel through space. I use it often, also currently for my Making Space project 2024. Maps and my drawings also refer to movement, in terms of directions and tuning in with both some sort of compass, and intuition.
Here is a floor map that I created for my Solo Bis:

Cluster 2: Gravity, repetition and attraction. Repetition of patterns is a theme that shines through my map of the universe. It is also something that I pay attention to when creating movement material. It is important, because it gives the audience something to get to know and to recognize. About gravity, I believe that things, objects, are gravitating towards each other in my map of the universe. In my pieces, objects/props are often carefully arranged in relation to one another. I decide where the props should be located based on what I find visually pleasing and harmonious. In addition, I try to change energies in the space, based on the field of attraction that occur between the objects, depending to how they are placed. This also goes for human bodies in the space – how they relate to each other and move together.
Cluster 3: Chaos + harmony. There are a lot of elements in my work. It is a web of associations. It can be chaotic, but there is harmony within the chaos. I create order, something that tells a relatable story, out of the load of information. All the little puzzle pieces create a full picture, bring yourself into the present moment and take a step back to get the overview.
