the third body is the result of relational knowing and recognition -
the third body is the space, the matter, the field that emerges from
the (intra)action* between beings, between others and selves
*Baradian term used to replace ‘interaction.Intra-action understands agency as not an inherent property of an individual or human to be exercised, but as a dynamism of forces (Barad Karen, 2007, p. 141)
this dance is not completely mine,
you make this dance possible
as a witness you can talk about my dance to others
as an ally, you can learn my dance
as an accomplice you are affected by my dance
as a host, you enable my dance to happen
as a guest, I offer you my dance, you receive this dance
as an opponent, you challenge my dance
as a foreigner, you expand my dance beyond
as a companion you support my dance
as a suspect, you may question my dance
as an observer , you make my dance real
I cannot dance without you all
you build my dance,
you make this dance happen
we, together, make this dance
Relational dance: " I cannot dance without you" , for exam assignement Decemeber 18th , 2024
".... this western idea of me its me, and the other is the other... end of the story - this idea of monoculture ( Geni Nuñez ): the impossibility to accept the simultaneosness of things, that we can be many things at the same time, the other can be many things at the same time... and all of this is happening at the same time..." Natalia, April 2025
" in respect of a lover...the other is the proyection of myself,
in respect of a baby... the other is the inmesity of what is yet to be done..." Mum, April 2025
"The other, it is impersonal, it can be a day, a culture, a country, but not a specific person even if it is an entity.
It was not in the room, but it is in this space, in this pool... as soon as I do not control it, it is the otherness, even a smell or a sound. Is it opposed to “mine”, to what I control or understand, or is it reduced to what is different? It is distant but it can be very close. It is concretizable, but when we call it “the otherness” we make it abstract, mysterious but at the same time it loses its identity, we simplify it, it is different and with less relevance, it enters in that category that if you want to explore it is because you are itching with curiosity. But at the same time it identifies us because it defines us as opposed to what we consider that is not ours, that we need to simplify, that there is that “other” category." Mara, April 2025
