What could our LARP possibly be structured like?
STAGE 0 ONBOARDING :
-
invitations
-
Safety measures
-
Define sandbox (we are aiming to transform the chosen/becoming environment from “a space” to the form of “the place” by using various scenographies, where we can feel safe, activated and included)
-
Warm up -> string game?
STAGE 1 METAMORPHOSIS:
-
Costumes and characters
-
Assign roles in game
STAGE 2 SYMBIOSIS:
-
Becoming one with our new bodies and newly met bodies of others, human/nonhuman/posthuman
STAGE 3 EXPLORATIONS:
-
Exploring the sandbox in roles (we could aim for shared bi/multi-directional exploration, not only we as agents explore the environment/place, also the environment/place explores us) i was thinking about this as well but it might be lost for the players/participants. we could also try one version where people only have one role, and another where people try all roles. sounds nice:)
STAGE 4 SHARE FINDING:
-
Congress about different findings
STAGE 5 CONCLUSIONS:
-
Share experiences
-
Offboarding
-
Feedback session
we could also aim for multiple entrances into the game - everytime we enter our experience varies accordingly to our presence state(?)
Character design:
- What kind of researcher?
- Who are they? What do they do?
- How would they collect and analyze?
- What tools do I use?
- What is my goal in this project?
- How will I achieve this?
- Do I have special skills?
'Present futuring'
Juxtaposing the bodily experience to the imagined scape; experiencing the ecologies of the not-yet through the ecologies of the so-far.
Not climate grief, but joy. Learning together. Bodies in movement exploring, becoming together. Inquisitve, not afraid to questions their identity and approach to exploring sites. Imagination.
THE CARTOGRAPHER
We haptically examine the surfaces of lost lands and draw maps of lost ecologies.
THE ARCHEOLOGIST
We find reminiscence in the land formed from degraded rememberings of critters and loosen tenses.
THE ANTHROPOLOGIST
We gaze and try to make sense out of these “reality-onalities” in which we last - together in conversation.
THE BOTANIST
We try to understand the notion of how plants grow, are and could be to know how to become with them and plant them in the not so far future(s) when they possibly will not be anymore.
THE SONOLOGIST
We try to sense the multiple and complex sounds of what is happening in our surroundings, we concentrate on the audible.
THE GEOLOGIST
We are from and for Terra, we come close to the land and zoom in to our surroundings.
THE ECOLOGIST
Our meaning of existence in the land of soon lost ecologies have been blurred - in this spatio-temporal reality we only persist in urgent griefing.
THE JOURNALIST
We wonder about the movement of ever-changing lands - trying to capture othernesses, therefore we are not putting down our pen till we document everything that is in our power.
THE SCRIBE
We are a living asset to every researcher, because our focus lands outside of us, the gaze is everywhere and always in movement.
THE ROVER
We are in constant inner disagreement getting an exciting rush from finding anomalies in the surroundings, it is almost like a game of hide and seek.
