As an artist I am committed to making work that is authentically, recognisably mine.
I take inspiration from my everyday life, the trees outside my window, people I pass in the streets, the books I read, the sounds that I hear, my dreams, my friends, my love for all things alive form the core of my work.
I want to make work that is accessible for everyone to relate and interpret in their own way, contextualising it in their own experience and their world of thinking, without dictating what meaning it must have to the viewer, knowing well what meaning it has to me.
As an artist I value attention to detail in my work regarding all its components, the stage set as well as what colour my nails are painted needs to always be in service of the performance.
I want to continuously explore the outskirts of circus, extracting the essence and uniqueness of circus as an artform. What makes circus circus and why can’t it be music, theatre or dance instead?
To you from me. For context.
I am talking to you from the point of someone who loves the chaos and thrives in organisation.
I always ask questions.
I usually don't even ask half the questions I have because they aren't appropriate, suitable or relevant (to the situation not me, to me all questions are always interesting).
I am learning to love mystery and sitting in a place of complete unknownness.
How wonderful is it to be blissfully unaware.
When you don't know you can imagine and that is fabulous.
I try to observe, not to judge.
I like to understand and comprehend the things and people around me, so I can see and see the world how they do and
I forget a lot which adds to a sense of mystery in my world.
I also remember a lot but it seems to be the things that are only useful in very unique situations. (I can remember the shape of the dog pee on the ground on my walk to school a few days ago but forgot to buy the one thing I went to the shop for)
A small summary of me.
There is so much more, but there is always more and if you knew it all I would rob you from the joy of experiencing mystery.
