Pesian calligraphy is a very old tradiition of beautifully writing of poems by bamboo and ink. BaranBand uses the persian poems as a essential text to comunicate with audiences.

Baran is kurdish and means rain. Rain cleans, refreshes and creates new similar to this band. BaranBands music consists of own compositions and new arrangements of old traditional Persian and kurdish compositions.
BaranBand was established in February 2013, and its members represent different musical cultures, genres and roots. These different backgrounds make Barans music eclectic and it always sounds fresh. The band has become known for energetic live performances, and it is led by charismatic brothers Gian and Marouf Majidi.

On this page I would like to introduce my group BaranBand as one of my main key works developed out of love, potential, hard work and friendship. All of the people in this band have being playing and working togetehr during the last 5 years and we love what we do. I wanted to include BaranBand in this study most importantly because of the two songs that I played with this band in my master concert.
Baran means rain in both Kurdish and Persian. Our music has roots in Kurdish and Persian musi,c but it is not a traditional muisc that you can hear on the radio or TV stations. We compose and arrange our own music. Our first album was MN BO TO . The album was in Kurdish, but the next album will be in Persian language( Farsi)
BaranBand is about a new energetic music which can take people to a different journey. here in this band we are looking for a new sound of world and pop muisc emerge into each others. The beauty of music is about the new creation and new listening culture. We do not concider ourselves as an intelectual group but more as a group which brings fun and good moments to the people.
BaranBand gives an opportunity for dreaming and composing. It also gives a chance to try out new things with the melodies and get feedback when soemthing does not work well. With BaranBand I became much more of vocalist and musician. Being a front man you have to be charismatic, in good shape, feel the energy and transfer that to the audience, which is the most important job of the vocalist. Knowing about music, believing in it and being honest with yourself and others changes the sounds to art.
Team work, listening to others, understanding what they do and how they function gives a perpective about self ability, which is a very good lesson to learn. Meanwhile, you should work on promoting your music and being active in selling your music to venues and festivals is another duty that comes these days with the life of a musician. There are thousands of competitors who want the same opportunity, money, fame and comfort. BaranBand opened my eyes to look around and realize how much I was in my own bubble, and how much I still have to learn. That is why I study everyday. A student for life.

This song is the BaranBand newest song which composed by Marouf (Sirvan) Majidi and I helped him with lyric.
BaranBand currently is working on the second album which most probably will be publish in the 2021. This album will be made based on Persian ( Farsi) language and consist of the band members pieces. I have had composed some song for this album and we have decided to try these songs perform on the stage to know about the outcome. When we know about the best possible, and suitable song then we can easily record them in the studio and put them into the album.
Here is a Iranian / Islamic design which BaranBand methaphorically looking to achieve the complexity, details. beauty and tradition laying down into this. Iranian culture/identity is very complicated. Iran is a nation of 80 million people with over 10 different culture lixing and living together. Persian, Kurds, Arabs, Turks, Armenian and some other etnicity living there is the country for thousand of years and they had influencing each other, exactly like below design which is full, rich and complex.
