[Table 2] Software Used and Purpose of Use.

Soundman OKM II Binaural Microphone (Airplane Sounds and Piano Sounds) and two AKG Perception 150 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphones (Stone and Pencil Sounds): Icarus

Two AKG C414-XLS Condenser Microphones: Time Travel

AKG CK80 High-Performance Stereo Shotgun Condenser Microphone Capsule accommodated in a RØDE Blimp Wind Shield and Shock Mount System (Entwistle Reservoir) and two AKG Perception 150 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphones (Studio Environment): (Floghera, Piano, Guitar, Stone sounds and supplementary wood branches crackling sounds): Land of the Sirens

Software Used

Purpose of Use

Pro Tools

Use of GRM Tools, Filtering, Final Mix, Bounce

Logic Pro

Application of pitched resonance on non-pitched dry sound objects as well as time-stretched harmonic drone soundworlds. Application of time delays. Application of the Time Stretch Length to Locators algorithm for extension or reduction of the size of a waveform to a specified length set by the user.

BEAST Tools

Sound Transformations through pitch transformations and delays. The multichannel output was then inserted into Reaper.

Paulstretch

Time Stretch

Sound Forge Pro

Pitch transformations

Vegas Pro

Pitch transformation of a sound file without altering its time duration.

Cecilia

Granular Synthesis through the Pelletizer module. Application of pitched resonance on non-pitched dry sound objects through the Harmonizer Module.

Reaper

Conversion of multichannel BEAST Tools outputs to stereo image.

SPEAR

Temporal Deceleration of a sound file whilst it is depicted through a frequency-time graph (spectrum analyser). Selection of specific frequencies in the decelerated file in the frequency spectrum depiction.

AudioSculpt

Used only in Icarus. Selection of specific frequencies in a frequency-time graph depiction of the sound file.

Sapling

Used for remixing up to four audio files through real-time randomization algorithms. Designed in Max/MSP/Jitter.

SoundHack

Used for convolution of two different waveforms. Because of the fact that the volume level of the output is extremely low, multiple superimpositions of the same waveform generated by SoundHack were implemented in Pro Tools.

Atomic Cloud

Used for granular synthesis only in Land of the Sirens.
