2025
III is the culminating artistic output of this research. It represents the assemblage of methods, processes, and reflections developed through three years of practice-based exploration.
About the Work
III synthesizes the methodological discoveries from Spirit of Rain with the technological developments of the Drift Engine. It is designed to be experienced with headphones, requiring active engagement from the listener.
The album embodies the research question: "What kind of music arises from a meeting of multiple musical identities?" The answer is not a single style or sound, but a method of working that allows different facets of artistic identity to inform and transform each other.
Ensemble³
III incorporates material from Ensemble³, a conceptual framework for improvisational performance involving two musicians and generative audio (the Drift Engine). This represents the practical application of human-machine collaboration explored throughout the research.
