"connecting - transforming - imagining

New Perspectives through Artistic Research" (conni)

Ideas and suggestions for the title:

“the art of (re)connecting“ -  Janne

Micro-Symposium PPS Bootcamp 3 - May 2023

Connections between your project and those of others:

questioning dominant thought systems (e.g. patriarchal thought, antropocentric thought...)

view on public space (political space, identity-forming-space, ...)

theoretical approach e.g. feminist, lefebvre, new materialism, ...

artitic approach (e.g. participative art, musical approach, performance art, dance, ...)

What could be the common concerns/topics that brings us together in groups?

idea Janne:
OR: in order to stay in the narrative of

connecting - imagining - transforming (knowing that the overlap and constiute each other)

- everybody (clsoing words, collective poem, whatever)

connecting , imagining, transforming.

a short abstract about 1) the curatorial concept 2) how/why the specific presentation came together in its frame, 3) the main issues addressed in it (100 words)

Conni:

title: FEMonumental Transformances in rural public space. A transmedia performance art method to transform patriarchal monuments into feminist monumental practices.

terms to connect:

transforming, imagining alternatives, questioning a dominant thought system, monuments, patriarchy, feminist approach, creating tools for other artists to use, several artistic practices (performance, movie making, painting), critical self-reflexion, public space as political space, public space as socially constructed space, experimenting mainly alone

What I think connects my project with those of others (as far as I know something about them...):

with Janne: feminist approach (Tendernes - one of my FEMonumental practices is Fluffy Softness); movie making, creating tools to be used by others

with Petra: feminist approach, emancipation of people in public space

with David: questioning of a specific social order and a dominant thought system (david: antropocentrism, conni: patriarchy)

with Jesse: imaginating alternatives, creating alternatives

Inspired from David's images of nature, I had to think about lichen. I find them very inspiring, for me it represents connectedness! Highly complex so called “symbiotic communities“, like little cities! And scientists are still trying to understand what they actually are, something in between a fungus and bacterias, but nobody actually knows (yet). They exists in all colours and kinds and are highly adaptable to all climate zones :)
