Librarsi: exploring musical co-creativity through human resonance by Corrado Cerutti

Librarsi is a co-writing project by Corrado Cerutti and Sara Simionato in which they explore the compositional possibilities that arise from the sharing of ideas, emotions and experiences regarding collective improvisation and orchestration. Through moments of free improvisation, they search for a common ground where they can grow an artistic and musical result that combines their musical qualities and sensitivity. In this presentation, they explore all the steps of the process that contributes to the development of a co-written project, from the first compositional ideas, to the orchestrations for a contemporary septet and to the final sonic result.

Biographies

Corrado Cerutti (Italy, 1997) is a Basel,CH based artist. His practice is based on working around the connection within guitar pedals and composition. He has a master degree in Jazz Guitar and Composition from the JazzCampus,Basel.

As a guitarist and composer, he is working with different ensembles through Italy, Switzerland and Belgium. In 2025 he will attend the Artistic Research program at Musik Akademie Basel.

Sara Simionato (Italy, 1996) is a singer and composer based in Antwerp. Her primary interest is the exploration of the compositional process through an embodied practice.

She holds a master degree in Jazz Singing and Composition from Conservatorio G. Verdi, Milan.

As a singer and composer, she focuses on the interdisciplinary relationship between music and movement through several projects based in Italy, Belgium, and Switzerland.

She is currently a guest professor at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.
