Sounds Of My City is a collection of sound and image materials that navigate feelings of identity, place and memory through sensory experiences.

Since moving to a new country three years ago, I've come to realise that my sense of self is often deeply influenced by the environment I find myself in. With each urban landscape, comes a different rhythm and cultural pattern to adjust to. The experience of relocating can bring with it feelings of lonliness and alienation, yet it also introduces a fresh source of inspiration and a renewed drive to observe and engage with the intricate layers that shape a cityscape.

This project is an attempt at de-coding the spaces I find myself in. Through sound and image materials, I am piecing together impressions from several different cities. Now finding myself caught between two countries, I no longer feel anchored to a single notion of home. Instead of searching for belonging in one place, I am exploring what it means to carry a shifting sense of self across cities.

As a scenographer, I hope to present an environment that offers a space for reflection, one that invites the audience to slow down, observe, and listen. My aim is to guide the audience on a journey through a composed melody of sound followed by image. This sonic-driven approach to filmmaking is central to my practice, where sound becomes the primary vehicle for constructing a sense of place through my own interpretations. By arranging my materials in a series of sensory comparisons, I want to explore how environments can be decoded and reimagined through layered perception.
