Follow the lost umbrella,

6–14 May 2019, Venice

(When does a place become a sight worthful seeing?)

Context:

As a member of the 'research cell' Through Phenomena Themselves, I took part in Research Pavilion 2019, Venice.

I studied sight-seeing and presented results of my research during the one day event Research Practices on Place initiated and organized by Charlotta Ruth and Alex Arteaga.

Plan:

Katarina Šoškić  will study sight-seeing. She will take walks and record her impressions, curious about the process of searching and discovering. She will play with the notes she has collected - photographs, video stills, written and spoken words, in order to construct narratives for her guided tour.

Result:

The guided tour consisted of a public reading performed in front of a tree that Katarina turned into a sightseeing spot, a walk from the tree back to the Research Pavilion and a slideshow projection that was played there, in front of the same audience that attended the reading and took the walk.
