Ilja Mirsky is a dramaturg at Munich’s Residenztheater and a leading voice at the crossroads of theater and digital innovation. Since the 2022/23 season, he has brought a deep interdisciplinary perspective to the stage, drawing on a background in Cognitive Science, Politics, Literature, and Psychology, studied across Tübingen and Haifa. He holds a Master’s in Performance Studies from the University of Hamburg, where his award-winning thesis explored choreography between physical and virtual realms. Currently lecturing on Theater and Digitality at the Academy for Performing Arts Baden-Württemberg, he is also pursuing a PhD jointly at the University of Tübingen and Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Ilja‘s international practice is defined by a bold integration of VR/AR, AI, and digital media into contemporary performance and theater.
