I am a filmmaker, screenwriter and scholar currently running the Screenwriting pathway on the MA Film, Television and Moving Image at the University of Westminster. Previously, I have held lectureships at the Universities of Kent (U.K)  and Waikato (New Zealand).  My PhD examined cross-cultural filmmaking collaborations and transnational funding structures in small nation cinemas. More recently, my cross-disciplinary practice-based research involves working with actors, choreographers and composers to explore collaborative methods of content creation for screen. My screen production work in the creative sector includes writing and directing drama, documentary, screendance and docu-drama for film, television and the internet. My films have been selected to screen at dozens of international film festivals, sold to television and released theatrically, while my practice-based research draws on my engagement with both the academic and screen production sectors to trigger dialogue between creative and scholarly concerns.
