Michael Lent is an artist and researcher finalising his practice-based PhD in Fine Art at the University of Lincoln in the UK. There he also lectures on both undergraduate and masters programmes in Fine Art and Curatorial Practice. Previously Lent earned his BFA at Tyler School of Art - Temple University in Philadelphia and his MFA from Goddard College in Vermont, USA.
Lent exhibits internationally, most recently at the Bluecoat Gallery in Liverpool, UK; the Albright-Knox in New York; and the MASS MoCA in Massachusetts. Additionally he has received numerous awards including funding from the New York Foundation for the Arts. His research has been presented at universities and learned societies such as Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, University of Minho in Portugal, and the Royal Geographical Society in London. A recent essay will be published in Mobility and Fantasy in Visual Culture by Routledge in 2013.
